Little Ones at Budlake is situated in a former Victorian village school and cares for just 29 children each day! . Located in beautiful East Devon on the B3181 between Broadclyst and Cullompton, the nursery is surrounded by open countryside and looks out over Killerton Gardens.
This wonderful old hall has been converted to meet the needs of Little Ones , and outside, as well as the glorious open countryside on our doorstep, we have an all weather playground and separate fenced lawned play area. The children can and do make regular outings through the surrounding footpaths to Killerton.
The under 2′s at Budlake, have their own area with a cosy cot room for their naps. Take a peep inside the baby room today and you might find a messy play activity taking place with a couple of babies exploring the different textures of jelly or pasta supported by a nursery nurse…… a couple of children will, I am sure, be snuggled up having a story in the book corner whilst other babies enjoy the challenge of being able to freely access the toys of their choice each day.
The large main play room is set out in areas for the children to explore. We have a construction area with a wide variety of bricks and building materials along with, of course the hard hat, yellow vests, clip boards, tape measures and pencils for all that important recording of measurements. The cosy book corner is the place for some quiet reading and a bit of time out from the hustle and bussle of the busy day. Our creative area is a firm favourite with all our children as they freely explore our art trolley, helping themselves to whatever takes their fancy from pipe cleaners to bits of ribbon and lace to paint, glue and of course, we always have lots of glitter! The maths area is a base for all our games and puzzles along with sorting activities, shapes and number games. We have a letters and sounds table and a colour table which change weekly….. don’t be surprised when your child asks to bring in something from home to add to these tables! Our role play is another favourite with the children and you will often find it transformed into a hospital or a café to run alongside our current theme.
